Band-to-Sleeve Revision involves removing the gastric band and converting it into a gastric sleeve. The need for band-to-sleeve conversion is due to the fact that approximately 20% to 30% of gastric band patients will not achieve the results they expected, or will have complications that force them to remove the band. It is possible to remove the band on its own, but it often leads to the patient regaining weight previously lost.
