Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) is a type of weight-loss surgery. Weight-loss surgery is also called bariatric surgery. It’s often done as a laparoscopic surgery, with small incisions in the abdomen. The Roux-en-Y gastric bypass procedure involves creating a stomach pouch out of a small portion of the stomach and attaching it directly to the small intestine, bypassing a large part of the stomach and duodenum. Not only is the stomach pouch too small to hold large amounts of food, but by skipping the duodenum, fat absorption is substantially reduced.
About Dr Abdullah Şişik
Assoc. Dr. Abdullah Şişik graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine in 2007. He received the title of “Associate Professor” by the Inter-University Committee. He has more than 50 scientific articles published in international and national journals and nearly 100 papers presented in international and national congresses. Abdullah Şişik is also one of the founders of the Archieves of Clinical and Experimental Medicine journal and is the editor-in-chief for 2020.

Treatment Plans
1st Day: Arrival and hospitalization process : After being picked up by a VIP vehicle, you will visit our hospital and sign the documents required for the surgery.
2nd Day Operation Day : Your surgery will be led by Associate Professor Abdullah Şişik and by 4 staff members including 1 assistant doctor and 2 nurses.
3rd Day After Operation Hospital Period: You will be kept under surveillance, your controls will be made and physical activity will be done.

I had surgery February 3, 2023. From the moment I landed in Istanbul until the time I left, I was given 5 star treatment. My experience, like so many others was amazing! Everything was explained to me before having RNY bypass. I knew what to expect because I have done my own research on it. Nothing can prepare you for the gas pain after waking up from surgery but they got my pain under control and within 4 hours of surgery I was up and walking the corridor. If I wasn’t sleeping, I was walking. It made recovery so much better and it helped kill the time and boredom of being in a hospital. Post op treatment was beyond excellent. Was given plenty of fluids and protein via IV. Once the drain was pulled, I felt like a new woman. Full of energy and ready to go! The hotel accommodations exceeded my expectations. My friend was given amazing breakfasts and their dinner menu at the local restaurant smelled amazing. Everything was very affordable and having a mall across the street to be able to walk and shop was so easy. My only regret was that I didn’t have this done sooner. My Gastric Sleeve Surgery had been the Best decision I made!
Finally 1 month after my gastric sleeve surgery with the brilliant Assoc Prof. Abudullah Sisik and his amazing team at Dr. HE Clinic.
In my first month so far I have lost 15 Kilos.
I definitely made the right decision trusting Letsmedi with my Gastric surgery.
Before I travelled to Istanbul my coordinator Luna helped me with all my question she even arranged for a video conference call with Dr. ABDULLAH Sisik To asked him and clarify any doubts that I might have, because my overweight was killing me by affecting my quality of sleep, my joints were in constant pain, I was struggling to work with all my overweight, was suffering from high blood pressure and pains in the body.
Once every doubt was cleared she helped me with my travelling booking my VIP picked up from the airport (wonderful crew also) and my stay at a wonderful 4 Star hotel (Hampton by Hilton Istanbul Kurtkoy).
I had some pain and sickness after my op the first day but the nurses made sure I got painkillers and anti sickness meds through my drip and I was out of bed within 6 hours after surgery walking to help get rid of my gas pain.
The nurses were very human and kind and knew what you needed when asking them.
With the help of walking and the breathing exercises my gas pain was completely gone by day 4.
You get woken early in the morning for blood tests and blood pressure check.
On the 2nd and 3rd day the dietitians will teach and give you different flavours of shakes for your next 2 week journey.
After this you continue
recuperating then you go to your hotel for a few days then more check ups for a clean bill to go back to your home country on this day the same VIP crew comes and picks you up to drop you at the airport to take your flight with the same VIP treatment. Then you are ready to start a new and healthier life!
My only regret is that I should’ve done my gastric surgery before; not waited for such a long time suffering with all the complications that the overweight brought to my life.
